Sprinkle a few treats around to encourage exploration. If they're still hesitant, let the old box go uncleaned for a couple of days. Once they use the Spaceship II, activate a quick clean cycle to let them see and hear it in action. Power on fully once they’re consistently using it!
Absolutely! The Spaceship II has two sensors that work together to make sure it only cleans when your cat isn't inside. You can set the clean cycle delay up to 30mins for extra control. During cleaning, the safety door closes and only reopens once cleaning is complete—keeping curious cats from peeking in. If the door senses any nudges, you’ll get an app notification, so you’re always up-to-date on your cat's activity!
The Spaceship II is suitable for kittens over 3.3 lbs and at least 5 inches in shoulder height. It’s designed to handle larger cats too, comfortably supporting up to 25 lbs with its spacious 60L capacity—making it a cozy fit for cats of all sizes!
The Spaceship II is thoughtfully designed with a seamless interior to minimize leaks. For extra protection, it includes pre-installed, replaceable 3M anti-leak silicone stickers on both sides. You can also apply an extra sticker to the front—just peel off the backing and apply to fully seal the edge, keeping everything clean even for high-peeing cats.
The Els Pet app lets you:

While the Spaceship II and the first generation share a similar 60L dome design, the new model brings key upgrades. The litter drawer has a simpler, leak-resistant design with no pedal, making installation a breeze—no assembly required! The waste bin is also larger at 10L (up from 6L), ideal for multi-cat homes. Additional enhancements include smarter IR sensors (now with four pairs), door sensor, and a more durable rake, all adding up to a more reliable, convenient experience.
The Spaceship II works best with clumping litters. Fill the litter drawer with 5L of litter, keeping it between the MIN and MAX lines. High-quality clay litter that clumps hard and quickly is ideal. Avoid low-quality bentonite litter that turns muddy and non-clumping litters like wood pellets or crystals.
